Come Dance With Us!
Queen City Tango is a community-based group of Argentinean Tango enthusiasts in the Burlington area. Dancers at various levels from beginner to experienced get together for weekly practices, lessons and workshops with visiting instructors, and other special events.
Weekly email updates: Queen City Tango sends out a weekly update of Burlington area tango activities. These include listings for classes offered by Alicia Cruzado and Gerd Hirschmann, nearby events offered by the Argentine Tango Society and Air de Tango, and also provide contact information for other regional tango groups and Burlington area ballroom and partner dancing organizations. If you would like to receive our email communications, please contact qct at queencitytango.org.
Friday Practica or Milonga: Queen City Tango hosts a gathering of tango dancers every Friday from 7:30 – 10:00 PM at Salsalina Dance Studio, at 266 Pine Street in Burlington (above Recycle North). $5 per person. Dancers at all levels are welcome, and no partner is needed. Our experienced dancers are warmly welcoming to beginners. Some weeks we offer a mini-lesson and Milonga (tango social dance); some weeks there is a Practica where we share tips and information from recent lessons. We also host guest instructors, on those occasions there is a longer lesson and the fee per person is higher.
Beginner and Private Lessons: Elizabeth Seyler, a doctoral candidate in dance at Temple University, has teamed up with Queen City Tango to offer Argentine Tango for Beginners and Guided Practica for dancers at all levels on Tuesdays at the North End Studio at 294 North Winooski Ave. Elizabeth has studied tango in Philadelphia, New York, Montreal, and Miami and hosted packed monthly Milongas (tango social dances) for four years in Philadelphia. Her playful tango classes are in great demand wherever she goes. Elizabeth also offers private instruction in Argentine Tango.
